MEDICATION ADMINISTRATION
Gain skills to administer medication safely to children and childcare centers and family childcare homes, and learn to provide special care arrangements for children with asthma and allergies.
The curriculum meets Maryland childcare licensing and program accreditation requirements. Training covers the safe administration of both prescription and over-the-counter medications, including practices and procedures for administering over-the-counter and prescription medication to children, including asthma, allergy meds. MSDE medication administration handbook is provided in class. Core of knowledge: 6 hours
ASTHMA, ALLERGY & ANAPHYLAXIS PREVENTION & MANAGEMENT TRAINING
This training is intended for early childhood caregivers and teachers to acquire relevant knowledge and skills to ensure Asthma and Allergy safe childcare environment, identify and manage Asthma and Allergy emergencies as per the child’s treatment/action plan and OCC COMAR requirement.

Chanelle is a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) and Registered Nurse (RN) with extensive clinical experience in medication safety, patient education, and healthcare training. With over five years of teaching experience, she is passionate about helping childcare providers and healthcare teams. build confidence in safe medication administration practices.
As an instructor for the Medication Administration Training Course, she provides practical, hands-on education focused on medication safety, proper documentation, and understanding caregiver responsibilities when administering medications to children. Her teaching style combines clear explanation, demonstration, teach-back techniques, and individualized instruction to support different learning styles and promote long-term understanding.
